    solo x vs. btl

Seriously, that is one of the dumbest logical conclusions I have read on this form yet. Please don’t take offense, you seem like you know you way around subs, but common man.. give me a ****ing break! first of all, even if the Fi.btl was any different than the RE MT... if would NOT just MAKE it...

    What could this be?

I want to get a mag pretty soon, I need to add it to my collection of subs. There is definitely some hype around this driver and I'm going to find out why

Best 12" Woofer Very small Space!!

Why don't you stop wasting our time and try it, use the **** amp you already own. How big a box? 1 cubic foot is more than enough, boost the low end a little, and enjoy

    solo x vs. btl

    And I don't the solo-x 18 is a 3.5"

    solo x vs. btl

"DURABLE" or louder? I would say both go to the solo-x, but here is why (its quite simple) larger voice coil (less power compression, less heat, more output) larger motor more BL product (almost twice as much BL squared divided by dcr) larger cone rubber surround (will not crack) larger...

    Ohm's ?

that is 100% heresay, specific to the amp, the manufacure details and about 1000 other variables. rule of thumb: match the impedance to the maxium stable load the amp can do.
  11. B

    Ohm's ?

I never said you can't, but I made it pretty clear that if you do, you lose half the power in my example which often happens in real life when you give an amp the non-ideal load. in my example, 4 ohms is not the ideal load therefore: DO NOT BUY A 4 OHM SUB.
  12. B

    Ohm's ?

my entire point was to NOT wire it to 4 ohms because 2 ohms gives you more power… this was just my example.

    popping???

it's called distortion welcome to AUDIO. do not overdrive a subwoofer. xmax is xmax.. if you go beyond that, then EXPECT ****ED UP NASTY SOUNDING SHIT. if you want more output, add another sub but DO NOT GO BEYOND XMAX EVER its a big myth that drivers work still OK beyond xmax..tehy ****ing...
