I ordered 2 Sundown x12 v3s. They were on sale.

Anyone know if the Monster is on the X or zv5 level? American Bass has bigger voice coils on the 12 and 15 than Sundown. I also was wondering what the difference is between the x vs zv5 coil since they both have 3 inch coils?

Still not installed yet, but I will let you know. Red Mahogany. The last 2 pics are older. I decided to darken it up with more stain.

Anyone have any thoughts on which is better? I don't see that many reviews on the Sundown, but I'm leaning that way because it has a higher fuse rating than the Alpine. The Sundown is around 70x4 rms, but the Alpine has some type of wizard technology that is supposed to dynamically push it to...

It is 2 separate chambers. I prefer this way in case a woofer blows you can just unhook the blown side until you get a replacement, and you can keep jamming without having to listen to a blown rattling sub.

I don't know about power yet, but it is about 1.15 per side tuned @ 32.5 hz

So what do you think about them?

I don't have much time to really work on building boxes like I need. I'm making slow progress on this one, but I could finish in 3 days if I had the time.

I appreciate it! He had an Atrend box before that box and the Hippos broke it apart. That last one is a turbo bass pro box with 40-60hz tuning. My box has zero flex and is tuned low. Those are 3 6 inch round ports.

You still have to be somewhat careful with little details when making the under seat box because it is still kind of a tight fit with the 6.5s. I will figure out how to get a bigger box under the seat next time, but I wasn't taking any chances this time. I only have maybe 4.5" mounting depth...

They didn't come Friday, but I did get them today. They seem legit and the subs feel like good quality. Take an L on them tweeters or just order some more separately.

I already know 5.625" is too small. I was asking because I noticed different cutout sizes from different brands, but I thought across the board they'd have similar cutout sizes but they don't.

Was their cutout measurement of 5.71" correct?

I already know about the vfl, but he asked about the xfl first. There is nothing wrong with the vfl, but it is not better than the xfl. It just depends on the power being ran, and the lower power sub is better for him.
