Distortion can be caused by many things. The usual cause is that the amplifer dosent have enough power to perfom at the level that your head unit or pre-amplifier requests. How to prevent it is turn your gain down.

If you are really into it then just do what i did. Buy some cheap speaker (dosent have to be a sub) and just take it apart. Much better and more comprehensible that way.

I agree with LBX2G. From the list you provided i would reccomend the Infinit Perfect... But if i were you and i had alot of $$$ then i would check out Focal. They are known for their stupendous sound quality and i agree. Check them out here...

I think that for Sq you should go ported. Tune the port low at 20-30 Hz.

Ah.... thats the only problem with this software.... To translte to inches you multiply cm by 2.54 and to go inches to cm you will have to divide by 2.54. I know that the spreadsheet is very confusing if you dont know the terminology but it is the only real way to have you speakers or subs sound...

JL W7. Out of the list you provided it reigns supreme. 2 of them. JL 500/1 amps each. You wont belive the results. Crewin Vega dosent really make a good sub, so take them off your list. might want to look at RE XXX, 12". W7 still better.

At any rate the Velodyne servo control will sound better than most, and i said most cylinder subs. I own one myself and i used to own a phoenix gold cyclone.
