LOL note that I said "some" HU with those listed features, but I definitely think that the Eclipse CD8454/8443/8053 sound much better than the Alpine CDA-9835/7998. I have not had the CDA-7990/7909/7949 so I can only comment on what I know, also those units dont have xovers/time alignment/EQ...

Sorry to be off-topic but hope you find a HU right for you! Sorry but I beg to differ, some lower/mid level HU like the Clarion DXZ or Alpine CDA series have T/A but dont sound nearly as good as others Clarion DRZ, Eclipse ECD, Denon, McIntosh, Nakamichi etc
