My Polk db 690 have no bass, WHY?

I have four 6x9" enclosures and only two 6x9 speakers. couldn't I just cut out the top and bottom of two of the enclosures and attach them together to increase the size of the enclosure. then add a port and put PVC piping for a port? Can you help me figure out port size/lenghth.

My Polk db 690 have no bass, WHY?

But now sometimes I hear a rattle when a bass note hits. It worrys me; the reason (to get technical) is that the enclosure is now improperly tuned so low that there is not adequate damping below the proper tuning frequency. The speaker should really not be trying to produce a 40-50 HZ note at...

My Polk db 690 have no bass, WHY?

I found out that by removing the speaker's terminal plug from the back of the enclosure and letting it hang out the back, it becomes "vented" and the bass is much stronger now even though the speaker has no damping any more. So what should I do? Stick with the sealed enclosure and loose all my...

My Polk db 690 have no bass, WHY?

I have Polk 6X9 in little enclosures that sit on my back seats. There's NO BASS at all. My Polk 6.5" in my front doors have about wice as much bass even though all four speakers are amped. I thought that the speaker were wired out of phase so I checked inside the enclosure and they're wired...

Call someone using DTMF tones without pressing any numbers!

Call someone without pressing any numbers...it's true. Try this it's funny. I downloaded Audacity and used it to created DTMF tones out of a phone number and then when you play them back into your phone's mouth piece the phone "hears" the tones and dials the number without you ever having to...

Dual voice coil and parallel/ bridged wiring.

Thank you Subs are 4 ohm each Amp: is a Jensen PowerPlus 840 75 x 4 watts, 4 ohm 110 x 4 watts, 2 ohm 210 x 1 watts, 4 ohm bridged stereo 2/3/4 channel mode switch Manual says bridged mode is only 4 ohm nominal. Not 2 ohm stable in bridged mode? I found this site, not sure if it help...

Dual voice coil and parallel/ bridged wiring.

I have a four channel amp and am considering components for the front and two 12" DVC subs. I don't quite understand the true benefits of dual voice coil and this is what is confusing me. I can wire each sub to a different channel and get 75WRMS per channel but what if I bridged both subs...

front/rear coaxials vs. front comps and a sub

So far I have bought the 6.5" Polk db650 for the front and 6x9" polk db 690 for the rear. I realize that for the same price as the four speakers combined, I can have a comp set just for the front and then just get a sub. What is your recommendation? Do you consider rear fill to enhance the...

Home theater sub in a car! would it work?

"HT subs tend to be tuned quite a bit lower: This sub has adjustable crossover 40-180Hz and has rugged carpeted encore and heavy duty handles and metal speaker grill. you'd think it was a car sub if you saw it, that's why I was considering. It's built pretty sturdy for a HT sub.

Home theater sub in a car! would it work?

But what I was wondering is if RCA line level outputs 4 ohms and is it safe to use an 8 ohm sub in a car? this seems a hell of a lot cheaper than an amp. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-1g5ErFiw3MD/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?search=dc+to+ac&i=539XP175P

Home theater sub in a car! would it work?

I have an old front firing ported 75 watt 10" sub from my home stereo that I don't use anymore. Would it be possible to buy a DC to AC converter and use this sub along with the sub outputs of my HU? In other words be using line level of the sub. Would the ohms be incompatible and cause damage...

    Speaker baffles or fiberglass deadening?

Which do you recommend, pre fabricated foam baffles or custom sound deadening in the door? I just bought these baffles and most of the reviewers say it dramatically decreases the bass UNLESS you cut a hole in the bottom...
