    Car Subwoofer ear pressure

You shouldn't need to run every EQ setting boosted. You seem to be trying to use your EQ to increase the system's over all output. If you really think you need everything boosted, turn treble down to 0, mid to +1, bass and sub to +2, and adjust your amp gains up. This should yield a similar...

    '65/'66 Mustang Coupe audio build

Don't mind slo, he's the local clown nobody respects but he keeps coming back anyway. Hopefully you will find someone who has done an install on a 66/7, good luck.

Ultimately the internet is toxic and people like slo tend to take over stagnant resources like this site.

    Mixing Subs (same brand)

Subwoofers have the smallest bandwidth requirement of any driver in your system, needing to run different sizes is completely unnecessary. If you have that much room up front, and can separate them into a left and right, just run some dedicated midbass drivers.

    Series-parallel wiring and sub heat/smell

I dont know how you did the cone movement test. It is true that cone motion is at it's least at or near tuning, but environmental factors play a role. If you tested cone motion versus tuning outside the vehicle, in a free-air environment, then I would say your estimate is accurate, but I suspect...

    Series-parallel wiring and sub heat/smell

Ideally each sub in your enclosure will be equal distance from the port opening to eliminate the possibility of an uneven unloading effect. That port looks huge visually and makes me think the enclosure is tuned quite high.

Does brand matter purely in terms of sound reproduction?

HiFonics was hit or miss with their equipment. Some models were solid, some were total junk. And even within certain models it was hit or miss at times. Nothing against HiFonics in general, it has just never been top tier equipment or a brand I would call reliable quality-wise.

Does brand matter purely in terms of sound reproduction?

To be honest, HiFonics was mid-quality even at the best of times.

RE shipped in crates made of lumber not cardboard. But obviously any crating method is prone to damage.
