    I would go smaller than that, closer to .4 or .5 Or even leave it in the surround-sound box, just remove the internal amp (if there is one) and run leads to the speaker terminals. Just understand that this speaker is NOT going to give you any respectable bass when installed in a car.

    I thought of that, but i don't see that feature anywhere in my owners manual or on the radio. The confusing part is that if the 6x9's are (faded to front), WHERE in the heck is the LOC getting a signal from???

    I can only IMAGINE the amount the sides and top of the box would flex in an 8' unchambered box.... i.e. NOT GOOD!!! What i'm saying is that i agree, but only for this application. In a smaller box their shouldn't be a problem as long as (as mentioned earlier) both subs are operating properly....

    It all depends on the frequency range of the speaker. Wouldn't make much sense to build a box tuned to a frequency that the speaker can't reach. As this is a SPEAKER, not a SUBWOOFER, most ported box plans will be tuned to a low frequency that your speaker can't reach. Have you considered an...

    Doesn't it make the most sense to just acquire the 12+ and ground(-) from the same wires/places that the STOCK/CURRENT head unit gets them? Why spend the time and money running new lines....
