I plan on buying a RE8 or 2 for midbass drivers. I was just curious where I should mount them for best imaging.

I too was looking for a low end head unit a while ago, I am happy to report the Alpine 9827 fit the bill quite nicely. It will do everything you named and runs pretty cheap (ebay).

what speakers would you choose CDT's ES-630Z or Boston Acoustic Z6's. I ran into some extra money recently and can't make up my mind.

I have run both the XR's and VR's and have heard the TR's quite a few times. Both sets are much nicer than the TR's , you'll notice quite a bit of difference. The speakers have the overall sound, but the V/X's get a lot louder and have a bit more punch to boot.

I was running JL XR525's for a while and am now on the 650's of the same model so I guess I have a little experiance in that area. I did notice a difference in the sound, quite a bit in fact, until I got the subs running. I definitely like it better, but I don't think it's really worth that...

where did you get your pricing at?

I checked CDT's site and the speakers mentioned were 200 more than what I planned on spending (300) anymore ideas?

Anyone have these and or know anyone that does, I can get them for 300 and I was curious if anyone knows of any better speakers for the money.
