First Fiberglass Enclosure worklog *PICS* + questions on door panels

This enclosure gives me adequate space for my sub. Fiberglass is too expensive to start over and make it larger. Plus I like that it accentuates that there is a sub there and takes less trunk space. If i did it again i would probably make the base go further, but to me this looks good, works...

UPDATE! I tore the fleece off because of my lack of volume and fiberglassed on an extension to the base. This should kill 2 birds with one stone. It should help to stabalize the enclosure and give the extra volume i need. here is a pic of the addition. feedback on this fix would be great...

You're right. I just measured with packing peanuts and im off by about 150 in^3. Im going to pull the fleece off tommarow and extend the base with 1/4" plywood fiberglassed onto the shell. -Adam

The panels on my car are already cracked and ugly anyway. Would all of the holes allow the fiberglass resin to stick to the plastic? I could always just get clips that match and add them onto the plywood base.

First Fiberglass Enclosure worklog *PICS* + questions on door panels

I've had the sub in the enclosure in the car and it did not tip. I would have had the sub ring closer in, but i did not have enough volume that way so i pulled it apart and put the ring further out. The box will be screwed into the body so it is really a non-issue. Thanks for all the...

First Fiberglass Enclosure worklog *PICS* + questions on door panels

The panels in my car are cracked, but i could probably still work off of them. Would it be better to make a baffle in the current door panels and work from there or to trace the outline onto say 1/4" plywood and use that as backing and make a baffle off of that. Is this making sense? IE...

Ok - now for the door panels. This is what the door panels on my car look like (1996 chrysler seabring.) These are not my door panels. Mine are cracked I was thinking about doing something out of fiberglass but am open to suggestions. I found a pic of some door pods that somebody else made...
