    Running the spudger along the back bottom of the faceplate will eventually unlock the faceplate from the mechanism... Retention clips / ramps are circled (poorly, a recurring theme here)...

    Hmmmm......Spudger was indeed the key. Insert Spudger into orifices at top back of faceplate, pry a tad to achieve separation....
