guys i made 2.9 cubic feet box with 4 inches diameter and 10 inches long port for my 1542D but the bass is only good for hip hop and rap music...but when i play trance and house which i usually listen i dont enjoy the beats and the fast bass....the bass sound like 'burrrr burrr'.....the fast...

i know the round port should be atleast the diameter size from the enclosure walls but how far should be from the sub? or it doesnt make any difference?

so the wall thickness acts as a part of port...thats what i wanted to know....

aeropots r not available here so ill b using pvc pipes....so if i get a port length of 8 inch for tuning 33 hertz i would add 8 inch + 0.75 wall thickness = 8.75 or 0.75 wal thickness + 7.25 = 8 inches.....get my point?

whats the best frequency for a balanced sound? i mostly listen to trance, house, electo etc but i would like to set something which gives overall good performance for all sorts of music without damaging the woofer...
