You're probably right, tough to beat a tube amp, but who knows how the reliability is in a car environment.

There car amps are nothing special imo. Neither are there newer home amps without the transformers. Mcintosh=old tube amps, and some older SS amps are pretty good. Car stuff it's just not worth it imo..

I wouldnt run hifonics for speakers, but subs yea. Get a old a/d/s amp on ebay for components, i promise you would never regret it.

I had a toshiba hda1, the remote ****** and it was buggy, layer change was noticeable-slight pause, slo loading. HD-DVD sont **** though, well maybe it does.. Bluray-hddvd- i wont waste my dough on buying them, good netflix rentals though all it's worth.

I got my eqx hooked up and must say it's impressive. I have a old audiocontrol ten Eq and the eqx blows that away imo. Only thing the ten has over the eqx is a subsonic filter This is just for analog cd playback, run the wires into the input section of the eqx, output to the cd section...

I think i'm gonna try my eqx in my home system

Not the best but one of the fastest production. For 27-35k i would not mind having something like this-lo mi, to put a system in to.

I would be nervous as heck getting a system put in that car. Any scratch i would probably flip out but it's probably worth it as stock sytem *****. Everything would have to be hidden well, no neon on amps etc. I like zo6 but prefer converts myself. Nothing like watching the stars at night in...

Yes they were. And still are.. My very first amp i ever bought was a Xi odin and a 15in sub. And went through a few more. For such a small amp it put out incredible performance. Interesting comments on the XXV.

Team Maxxonics. How would you compare the new hifonics amps to the old ones?

Harshness can be tamed with a good amp and EQ like audiocontrol. Have it RTA tuned and then say it's to harsh and i will believe it

Yes but i think it's possible alot of peaple when playing music very loud could be clipping their amp, soft clipping? Even if the gains are set to mid-way. Without a clipping indicator on the amp it can be hard to know for sure.

Both companies imo probably made better amps in the past. Soundstream referance series-the blue ones- are regarded as really good SQ amps. The older Hifonics amps are tough to beat for SPL and raw power.
