Well. that would single out the headunit, by plugging in an ipod as apposed to the headunit rca's going to the amp.

I've done it, you can buy a ac to dc 12v converter at radioshack. But you can also get the power supply out of a computer (the supply with the switch on it, i forget the model) and they work too. If you google it you can find wiring diagrams on the computer power supply and you just get the 12v...

like i said before, i dont expect it to be a 1000w amp. This is why i asked about the hifonics brutus sub (500 rms) and the orion amp (500 rms).

Well, ya i have heard if you match up the brand (headunit and back) it will sound better but probably not by much and im upgrading so it doesnt matter. Im Ordering the orion amp and the brutus sub on monday unless a few people come in and tell me they ****.

or one brutus b10d2 and a Memphis audio 16-PRD1. I was thinking these were a good match cause you can wire the sub at 1 ohm and the amp is 500 WRMS at 1 ohm.

What do you guys think of lanzar subs? i found a pair on ebay for pretty cheap and im sure i could find a better brand amp on here for cheap to push them, and build my own box...

I cant find out at what ohm. I have searched and searched but i found nothing on specs of the AMP. Sorry, i will search some more and see if i can find out. Thanks for the quick response.
