Well I guess that is it for me too. If I am restricted from seeing all the post then there really is no need to participate. RobGMN chases another one away.

I’m not sure what to say . As stated in the PM, you both can’t see each other’s posts now. You can’t see his and he can’t see yours. Everyone else can see your posts and you can see theirs. You aren’t being targeted and this isn’t a form of punishment.

You and Rob have had a beef for years now, with constant bashing and you had even noted how he was getting on your nerves and wished he would be gone.

What do you suggest I had done differently?

A: Close the thread, so no one could post anything? This would have just lead to the bashing moving to another part of the forum and depriving others of this type discussion.

B: Ban Rob? If he wants to discuss left wing politics, he has that right as well as others have a right to discuss right wing politics. As long as he’s not breaking the TOS, not a lot I can do.

C: Keep up my weekly posts of begging members to stop the name calling / bashing? That didn’t work….

This is a way to keep this thread alive and you 2 apart from the bashing. I’m lost as to why this doesn’t seem to be a win-win for everyone.

Not trying to be an ***, but this is the best way to handle this IMHO. If warranted, this can be implemented on others as well, so again, don’t feel targeted.

Interesting. I saw ham at $2/lb - typical sale price for this time of year. Green Beans were under $2 - as cheap as I've seen them in long long time. Orange Man Good for grocery prices.

I can only surmise from your post that he is mad that he can't see my posts. The ones that make him so upset to see.

I'm getting along just fine without seeing his posts. Maybe it's just another indicator of where the real problem was the whole time?

He twists words people say and responds out of context to misrepresent what people say on purpose to cause arguments. That's really what the beef is about; he tries to paint people or what they say in a much different way than their own words describe; it's just a dishonest way to converse. Just to be clear that's a problem literally everyone has when responding to Rob, not just the one you're responding to. I'm just providing what I think is proper context to the problems. I just like sharing the most recent news and updates and stuff, but when my words or others are taken out of context, it provokes a strong response out of defense for most people...we literally call it Rob Is Always Right Syndrome. But anyways that's my 2 cents

I thought we were talking about price of food for Thanksgiving. You have cited something completely different (derailing the conversation). In my case, ham & turkey were at "historically average" prices; green beans and potatoes were at pre-pandemic prices. Most people would call <1.5% inflation for ham and <2.5% inflation overall, a vast improvement.

I'm not sure what your point is - the evidence you provided supports that Trump is doing a good job, but then throw in some oddball comment about "falsified studies" and the obligatory Trump insult. Your post lacks consistency.

WTF are you talking about? All three articles say that Thanksgiving dinner costs are down, which is exactly what Trump and Slapper said and what I said I personally experienced.

I have challenged you a dozen times or more to provide proof of the "twisting" and of the outright lying you have accused me of, but you refuse to back up your claims. It's a dishonest way for you to converse.

I'm going to ask you to be a "good faith" poster, and back up your accusations with proof, or stop making the accusations altogether. If you can't prove what you claim, you really shouldn't make the claim at all.

Honestly, RobGMN should have been gone long ago. He made it clear with his own words he was here to argue. Literally here to argue. He has told several members in the past if THEY didn't like it THEY could leave. It's akin to me walking into someone's house and telling a man's wife her spaghetti is piss poor and she needs to add other meat to the sauce or get out. Everything seems to be his way or no way. Greater than 85% of my interactions with him were responses to his bullying, smart comments, insinuations, condescension, or other conversations where he talks down to people.

He made a comment about the way something looked to people and I came back with it would look that way to a "closed minded idiot". I didn't call him an idiot but because it's a trigger word for him he claims I called him an idiot. I didn't. But he sees NO issue with calling everyone MAGATs. He knows damn well he is calling Trump supporters maggots. Of course he would claim he just made it plural. Horseshit. Like I said to him, he thinks we are all stupid.

Just because he and I can't interact doesn't mean he has stopped... He just posted this above.

Again, talking down to people. It doesn't matter what thread it is. If Rob is there, arguing will follow. He frustrates people into debates and responses and insults them. Then claims "I didn't do nuffin". I ask you again to read the political post when Rob hasn't been there for several days in a row. People could discuss politics and have different opinions without Rob judging everyone then telling us we are wrong anyway.

Precisely. Look at the Slapper/Rob/Me cost of Thanksgiving Dinner exchange. Rob specifically says the articles that Slapper provided actually disprove his point. All three articles prove his point, which is that Thanksgiving dinner is cheaper this year. Totally disingenuous. Additionally, he plays games with the language or tells us what we think, etc. I don't necessarily blame Rob specifically, this is pretty much how the left "debates" in general.

I do have AI paranoia. Not sorry, either- the people who make AI have AI paranoia, so it's not really an insult, it's more an acknowledgement that I pay attention to future trends in the world and can understand the deep implications.
