Can someone give me the low down on what it's all about and what the Mexicans/Hispanics are trying to accomplish? I live in a town in which the majority of the population is Mexican and the guys I play basketball with told me a little about whats happening, just looking for more in depth other than "we aren't going to work because of the gov't."

Well the reason I ask is because it seems kind of stupid to "not work" on a particular day. It is not going to hurt the government or make them think any differently about the situation. In fact, imo, if it's going to bother anything it will be the companies that employ these individuals. So why would the Mexicans want to hurt those very same people that give them work? I heard some sort of rumor that the government was supposed to charge each illegal currently in the US $2000 to get there papers. Some families would be looking at well over $10,000. IMO, if this law was passed, why not make the employers front some of that bill, afterall, they pay the Mexicans cheap and most likely will have a lot of trouble replacing them. Just wanted to hear more reasoning behind the "movement".

why would the elimaination (exportation) of 12 million low paid workers raise the prices of "pretty much everything". Get a clue buddy... and no they aren't even going to deport the ones that are here so making it harder isn't going to cause massive inflation...

they'd make the cash... when so many of the illegals living like human pack rats, 20 to a 3bdrm house they could come up with the cash... many of them send 60-80% of their money back to mexico anyways... this could all be solved with a BIG wall, amnesty and more lax immigration that would allow them to come legally and become citizens.... and for those who continue to come here illegally get one of these to send them home:
