Would you run a claas a/b amplifier on you woofer or woofers? Would it take a toll on your woofer? Would it be ok?

most sq set ups only use a/b amps on their subs.

this his how people have done it thru out the 80's and early 90's as well.

A/B amps have a wide frequency response(usually full audio range) but aren't as efficient. They are usually bigger for the same watts out of a class D amp, but you would be fine to run it on your subs.

Amplifier class has nothing to do with your sub but rather how the outputs are biased within the amp itself. Class A/B amplifiers are simply less efficient than your standard class D units.

It all just has to do with efficiency, class D are more efficient than class A/B. Bottom line is your going to have to spend more money on a class A/B amp. Because most likely you would want to run each channel to a load which gives you somewhere around 65%-70% efficiency, which in effect means you would have to buy a larger amplifier than what you need since you will not be running it as low as you can go. When on the other hand you can get 65% efficiency from an class D amp at pretty low impedances.
