it would be a cheaper way to monitor my battery in place of buying a cigarette lighter volt meter which i would not really enjoy looking at

i just need to know if there would be any bad things that could happen from doing this lol

also, only bad thing i could picture happening are the wires getting too hot and melting... other than that, IDK what else could go wrong

 
a good multimeter has an internal resistance of about 10 megaohms..cheaper ones will be less than that, but either way, you won't be sending enough current through the leads to melt them...you may have to worry about the DMM battery dying at some point

Just get a stinger voltmeter and call it a day
