ok, becuase of space, i have to mount the amps on the floors of the backseats. i carry people around alot. so i was going to just make a mdf box to go around them, but heat would buildup. maybe the walls of mdf and the top perforated mesh? or like a single 1x4 across the top, leaving the edges exposed but feet would rest on the 1x4?

amps are kicker 250.2 and aq2200d

I wouldnt suggest Mesh. If anything make sure you SEAL plexi glass over the amp's, that way no water, mud, ect will get onto them. Id suggest finding another place, Forreal.

so have a walled off top, but then have fans doing push/pull on the sides? good idea. i have some 120mm computer fans laying around, would those work fine?

You have a blown cap in the amp more than likely. Had the same thing happen to a soundstream amp.

Getting a good voltage reading does not mean good power transfer. You could read 13.8v out of a 24 AWG wire. Recheck your amplifier's ground and...
