so my friend tinted her headlights too dark. if i were to get her a 5000k hid kit would it help. she can barley see at night because of it.

well the higher the kelvin the dimmer the light. so 5k would be brighter than 10k.

Completely wrong. The higher the K rating, the lower the light output.

If you want to most light output you want to get somewhere around 4300k.

I like my 6000k kit from DDM Tuning, but it is a little bit blue. I would say 5000k would be perfect.

Usually people compensate it by turning on their brights.

Your friend should of went for a set of aftermarket headlights that has black or black chrome as the background, that way it still looks dark but the headlight still functions.

she turned on her brights, still couldn't see. its got 2 coats of vht nightshade.

Tell her to use some paint thinner and do it again with one light coat.

If the brights don't even penetrate it then I don't think a 5k or 10k lightbulb would help that much either.

well shes gettin the kit, not just the bulbs. the ballast is what makes them brighter i think.

wattage and kelvin is different. kelvin is the temperate the light is baked to to give out a color. wattage is the power output of the light. I would go 55w HID's in around 5000 or 6000 kelvin and use relays.

she didnt know they were guna get that dark. she wanted to tint them but STILL be able to see.
