I’m going to build a box for my 2011 Lincoln Navigator. The box will sit behind the third row seats in the passenger side corner. The question I have is which direction should the sub and port face? I’ve seen the sub facing up with the port to the side and I have seen the sub and port both facing to the rear. Which setup is better?

I’ve always had the best luck with port and subs on same side of box facing the rear. You might need grills or something to cover subs if you still want to throw stuff in and around the box. 4th order Bandpass with single port firing directly into corner works extremely well and subs are protected extremely well...but you have your traditional Bandpass drawbacks.

That would be a function of the harness, not the HU, I think. Have you looked into a Maestro or iData interface? i would check with crutchfield...

thanks DB, that definitely helps swallowing a $300 price tag 😂 these would essentially be running midbass for me too

What is your budget? With being exposed to Rain.. I would recommend looking at a marine grade SAS Bazooka for the sub stage

Don't forget Hoffman's Iron Law. You can have 2 of the 3: low end, efficiency/sensitivity or small enclosure size...
