hey i currently have a xxx 15 in the back of my eclipse now space is verry limited so i went with a 2 cuft sealed box as recomended by re for their sealed boxes. i am useing a tsunami 1800t amp to power it i am runnin 4 gauge wire for power and ground and have a 5 farad capacitor but there is one problem. there just isnt enough spl for me. i know if i had the room to do maybe a 4 or 6 cuft box that it would sound a lot better. anways anyone with a lot of experience know in a 2 cuft sealed box in my current position what 15" size sub would get me the most spl? or maybe is there something i could do besides getting a bigger box to make my xxx 15 a lot louder? by the way cost dose not matter

yea but im not that great with fiberglass ive only built 2 boxes and they were pretty easy ones and the port tuning on a box of weird shape would be very hard and i just finished my box part fiberglass part mdf all i have left is the amp rack tomarow and i dont really want to tear it apart unless it is the only way

My rfr's are louder then my friends xxx's.
That doesn't mean ALL rfr's will be louder than ALL xxx's in every car. Too many variables.

And if cost is no object, then just pay a reputable shop to do the box for you.

i could pay $650 to get a new box made but mine is just fine for now i did take it by a shop though. they told me that i should get a different amp. here is whats happening. on my tsunami 1800t amp when i turn on the sub sonic filter the sub starts flapping around as if it were losing air from the box i turn off the filter its fine but not as loud as it should be. so they checked out my box said it was all great nothing wrong with it at all they suggested either

1. the amp isnt kicking out the power it should be

2. the amp cant take the 1.4 ohm load (cuz my sub is dual .7)

3. get a new amp

THE amp is 2 ohm stable only,I own two of them,I am surprised you have not blown it.

The amps aren't seeing a 1.4 ohm load...the static reading of the coil may be 1.4, but impedance is dynamic, and will be higher than what you think it is...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

i think i will upgrade to an amp this is both 1 and 2 ohm stable that way it should cover everything inbetween. im thinking about a hifonics herculese. i will upgrade the box later when i upgrade to 4 12s. but that wont be for a long while bu how do you think the hirculese would work?

Yeah maybe your gain just isnt turned up? cause a XXX with 1800 watts should pound, and I know that amp isnt one ohm stable and it gets kinda hot at 2 ohms, so make sure your sub is actully 1.4 ohms. And where is your sub pointing? back towards the turnk will always give you better SPL
