Need help on L7 setup

Just got 2 12" L7's (2 ohm version) and was wondering the best way to go with amps. I want to run them each around 900watts rms at 2 ohm and still be able to run them at peak with 1500 watts at 1 ohm when I want. Anyone know an amp that would do that for me. The hifonics brutus has an rms of 900 watts which I like but the peak at 1 ohm is only 1200 watts. Anyone have any suggestions on two amps that would suit me? Could i Possibly be able to run the L7's at a higher rms without damaging them over time? And what should I tune my ported box at for them? Need a little help. Thanks

OK, first off, if you have 2 Dual-2 ohm L7s, you can not run a one ohm load. You can only run 8, 2, or 0.5-ohm load. Look for something that puts out 2kW at either 2 or .5 ohms

Yep, go for an amp with 2000wrms @ 2 or 0.5 ohms or go with 2 amps with 1000wrms @ 1 ohm. If you were running a pair, you should have gone with dual 4 ohm VCs. Either way, you want to feed those suckers about 1000wrms each.

edit: my box for my 12L7s is 6 cubic feet tuned to 32hz

So you have 2x L7 DVC 2ohm susb right...

wiring options are wire the subs voice coils in series so each sub is 4 ohms then wire the subs to the amp in parallel to present the amp wit a 2 ohm load

Wire the subs voice coils in paralel so each sub is 1 ohm, wire subs to amp in series to present a 2 ohm load

I wouldn't recommend running an L7 at PEAK/MAX power or 1500w....Never used Kicker but I think the 12"s can take 1000-1200 all day if you know what you're doing and have sufficient power/electrical.

Wire subs voice coils in paralel then wire subs to amp in parallel to present a 0.5 ohm load (not advisable unless you know your amp is stable down to 0.5 ohms).
