Need a cheap 1 ohm stable amp.. not hifonics?

what size inline fuse? and what size are the fuses on the amp?
Inline on his car was 80 amp, fuses on amp totaled 160. See below for further explanation.

That particular series, does rated power @ 14.4
I have installed two of the AP30001D's and 5 of the AP1501D's, all have had any issues, never went into protect. They are an all around beast of an amp for the price.
Thanks for the info, definitely looking into it.

I don't think anything is wrong with ur amp. What size wire and what size fuse?

U pry have to small of a fuse and not a issue with the amp
Wire is 4 gauge and fuse is 80.. I put the amp in my car as well just to test it out (4 gauge with 120 amp fuse) and it popped the fuse before anything was audible. This should also address the earlier post regarding checking his ground and corrosion..

if you do get another hifonics amp......get a generation XX. i just seen a pic of the one you are talking about.....i see why its acting a fool! dont let that BX series amp make you or your friend think all hifonics amps are crap because there are some good ones out there.
Like i said earlier, its for a friend, and he's on a budget. I know about the gen XX amps, they are very nice.

it popped the fuse before anything was audible.
That right tells me that there is a problem within the amp itself.....get it checked out or get him a new one.....

P.S. if your amp has 160amps worth of onboard fusing from the manufacture, use at least 160amps worth of inline fusing at the battery. If not that can cause your inline fuses to blow, cause if at some point and time your amp tries to draw anywhere near that type of current then the 80amp fuse will diffenently blow....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif:D:D

That is the great thing about Maestro products, they are very thorough. Downside is the price tag.
