JL makes a good woofer. they are expensive, but it doesnt change the fact that they are good.

Sad but true.

The only thing that really ***** about JL is their retail pricing. Being way overpriced to the majority of people doesn't detract, however, from the inarguable fact that they do make quality gear.

IMO i'd rather have 3 Assasin 10s and saved like $200 or more lol... U just can't beat the price on those **** things. They won't be at that great price for any longer either...

Nice... a fellow tC owner who has interest in JL subs. 3 JL W3v3's would hit louder than the 1 W7 but the 1 W7 is far superior to the JL W3v3's in SQ no matter how many W3v3s you have.

I would say go with the 1 W7 but instead of sealed go ported. Either way, it will be loud and you will be satisfied.

Just a note that my opinions are just from word of mouth so take my advice for what its worth.

One more thing... JL audio is currently in the research/design stage of creating a stealth box equipped with a W1v2 or W3v3 or W6v2. Its a completely stealth install where one of the side panels will have to be cut in order to still give full storage space use in the hatch. Anyway, in relation to the post above, one dub, ported, would walk all over 3 10's sealed.

That wasnt asked tho.

I also dont believe the w7 to be "all that" as an SQ woofer, in relation to another post above. Especially if ported up against 3 sealed when SQ is what is sought after.

OK, the W3v3 is like only 1 db lower than the W7 as far as response 1w/1m.....

I would put money that the 3 W3's would get louder, and sound quite a bit better doing it, as well as a much better punch to it. W3's FTW...EVERY day of the week.

Just out of curiousity, have you heard 3 W3v3s in a sealed enclosure?

And why not get their stealth enclosures?... because they are way overpriced? Maybe so but everything JL is overpriced and in case you didn't notice, I was just adding another option for the OP.

I'm sure you have heard the stealth box made for the tC too right?... oh wait you couldn't have since it is only in it's research phase. I guess your just going with the stereotypical "hearsay" that all JL stealthboxes are overpriced pieces of crap?
