Help building a simple/cheap system

Hey, so I'm trying to piece together a simple, cheap sound system. I'm driving a 90' 325i, and from what I've read the stock speaker sizes are 5.25 for both the fronts and rears. I don't want anything fancy. I'm looking for sound quality, not max DBL's. I listen to 95% country music so I don't think i really need a subwoofer. Some decent speakers should give enough of the bass for what i listen too. The kinda features I'm looking for in a HU are CD/AUX (Id also like to have a HU that isn't "flashy". I'm trying to keep somewhat of a 'stock' look, so as to not draw too much attention from would-be thieves). Maybe just some decent 5.25' components. Id like to keep the budget as small as possible, hopefully below $500 CAD. If you could link to them on http://www.sonicelectronix.com that would be great. Thanks in advance

A subwoofer would be a nice benefit, since you won't get a lot of lower frequencies from the 5.25" mids. You could do a single 8", if you don't want a lot of bass. Country, while it being country, does have quite a bit of low frequencies.

Ya, i was thinking that. I wouldn't go bigger than an 8" i dont think. Can you run the 2 sets of comp's + an 8" sub off 1 amp? Could you suggest a speaker/sub/amp combo that would work? Im somewhat flexible on the budget, but If possible, id like to keep it at or below $500.

edit: Oh, and i took out the XM part. I forgot I still have an XM reciever.

how does this sub look?

edit 2: Sorry if this isn't correct, i dont know alot about car audio, but would this work:

comps: dsh213 x2 70w RMS each

SUB: 8" Rockford Fosgate Punch P1S48 150w RMS

AMP: dsc480 80x4 or 160x2

Would it work to bridge 2 channels to power the 150w sub and the other 2x 80w channels for each set of comps? Is that how that works?

I read his first post and it says all he wanted was comps and a head unit sicky. My bad I missed the head unit.Overpriced is MB Quart since Maxxsonics took over.Hell my German made QSD's were overpriced but I love em just as much as my correctly priced speakers.

phoenix gold rsd5cs for door speakers.

Alpine or Kenwood Exceleon HU, there are a bunch of models and I'm not up to date with them but I like both brands. Pioneer I think makes the speakers sound like they're in a fishbowl idk why. I'd search crutchfield for headunits but buy them from somewhere else because they're over priced.

and I'd look for an amp that can do around 100wrms x4 to match those comps. Sundown, Alpine, Hifonics are brands I like and have had good experiences with. I'd stay away from kenwood amps.

people were rantin'/ravin' about the PG comps awhile back, have read the JBL GTO 8" sub is good as well from several different comments, onlinestereo has it for about $80 shipped (have one but not installed yet), a 4 ch amp should do it all but have read comments that the PG comps like alot more rms than what they are rated, but it would depend on your listening levels. Less than $200 for comps & sub, need a sub box, amp and wiring , would be close to $500 or a bit more.
