fuse box w/ postive terminal

A normal one should be fine.

Im not shure if your van has one, but you can try looking for a fuse on the alternator.

I know my burb has one, much eaiser to use that terminal than the stupid side post one

 
If you upgrade the wire from the batery to the fuse panel input (that terminal you mentioned is the input) to a much larger size 4 ga if you are adding a small system 1/0 if you're going larger, it would be fine to use it as a place to tap into the + power. None of the current will be flowing through the fuse panel itself so its current rating is not a factor.

Different terminal than I'm used to then. I'm used to that being the input for the panel. Any fuse on that terminal would be after the terminal itself in the power chain. The chain would be battery +, wire, terminal, fuse (master), distro panel.
I know, most are the other way around, this one could be to but i just assumed being a GM product it would have the same style fuse box.

It would be cheaper, it might be easier to find a place to mount it, and you would have a ton of options if you just do two, 3 slot fuse holders...
