Well .... The one in my personal car is getting 1450 watts RMS , and it just loves it. The most I have thrown at one is 2800 watts , and it didn't even hiccup. Really though , anything over 1000 watts , and it gets WAAAAAAAAAY too loud for me. The gains on my amp are at their minimum.

We did a SPL shootout with a JL W7 , and the SPG got just as loud , but sounded SOOO much cleaner doing it.

I'm only looking at the subs I listed though .... and am starting to lean more towards an ID Max or the JBL ....
