hey guys so i jsut bought a pioneer ts 3002-d2 sub which is a 12" 1200 wat and 3500 watt max sub. and also a Pioneer Gm-D8400M Mono Amplifier With 1200-Watt Max Power 300 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (600 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms)..i heard that its best to use a 1.25 cf box. i found a really nice looking box on ebay for 55$ thats 1.25 cf and looks good. i was wondering if its any good.

BRAND NEW 12" PORTED SINGLE TRUCK CAR BASS SUB BOX $24 - eBay (item 280474159112 end time Mar-15-10 13:03:53 PDT)

No. No its not.

Are those ports? I can't see if they're ports or just decorative circles. Hopefully they're just random circles to add flash, because it doesn't mention any tuning frequency.

That box is 1.25 cf before displacement. You probably want 1.25 after displacement. A correctly designed ported box will outperform any sealed box. But a crappy made ported box will be...well...crap.

Max ratings mean nothing. You should only look at the RMS rating.

you apparently have a 1200w sub and a 300w amp. It appears your sub has dual coils, which are each 2 ohms. these can be wired to 1 ohm or 4 ohms. Your amp doesn't support 1 ohm loads (it will over heat, see the 'my trunk caught fire' thread in the general section //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif)

where did you buy the equipment from? Do they have a return policy?

That would be a function of the harness, not the HU, I think. Have you looked into a Maestro or iData interface? i would check with crutchfield...

thanks DB, that definitely helps swallowing a $300 price tag 😂 these would essentially be running midbass for me too

What is your budget? With being exposed to Rain.. I would recommend looking at a marine grade SAS Bazooka for the sub stage

Don't forget Hoffman's Iron Law. You can have 2 of the 3: low end, efficiency/sensitivity or small enclosure size...
