Hey folks,

I have a JBL BP1200.1 Amp, and a JBL W12GTI sub. I have an OLD 1 Farad Cap installed, but I noticed that my lights dim down a lot when the bass hits.

So I have 3 Questions?

1) Will the power drains when my bass hits hurt my car battery or alternator?

2) Can CAPS go bad?

3) What type of CAP should I get to replace the old one? Brand? Farads?

Thanks

Ken

1. i dont think they would hurt anything as long as it doesn't drain your battery completely

2. i have never heard of a cap going bad before

3. you may not even need a cap, generally people say stay away from caps, they are really just another load that your alternator has to charge so it may be more hurtful to have it than to not
