arnt the gains supposed to be set to match your head units preout voltage

^^yes and no...just set the amp up right(crossovers, gain) and hope for the best. its all in the tune!

set the gain to about 20 volts with a dmm, thats about 400rms, they don't take much more then that, depends on the box, if it is ported i would go much more then that i had four of them.

the 20 volts is based on a 400rms set with a 1 ohm load.

i have a cvr 15 on a directed 1500d @2ohms 800 and it sounds great handles the power well can turn my H/U up to 33 no distortion clean BASSS!!!

Could you not run it at 4 ohms and give it 250 ish?(I think that's rated power at 4)

yea but what i do is i find deals ... build the box hook up an amp to it and sell it installed ... i want people to be like wtf is in your trunk ... and i pop out with a 10" lol

most people in miami got fleemarket systems so i want them to accually feel the bass not just noise and im tryin to start a reputation so i spread by word of mouth ... lol im not planing some major corporation just some extra money on the side .. anyways i get to test different configurations

yea i had it for my 10w1 but i blew it so now i just got the box laying there

any other suggestions on what sub i should use in that box ?

i want a relative cheap sub new or used ... not many people know about car audio and think 10"s are micky mouse subs
