Correction: Alpine SPX-17REF vs. SPR-17S

Guys there was a misunderstanding and the speakers for sale are SPX-17REF (not PRO). So which one should I go for now, 17S or 17REF?

SPX-17REF is 75rms and SPR-17S is 100rms so I'm thinking SPR-17S is the better one now since my amp is 4x100rms What do you think?

Good news just keep coming (not) both models have blown tweeters but the guy also dropped the price quite a lot. I can't find any 100rms tweeters.

tweeters are the best part of the Pro set, that's why I grabbed a pair of them. Might be willing to part with the tweets if the price is right, so PM me if interested...

If the tweeters are blown, there's a good chance the install wasn't done properly or the speakers were way over powered. You might want to start looking for a different set. Do you have access to Image Dynamics in your area? The CTX65CS component speakers are very popular and priced very nicely.

Yeah I won't buy those speakers. We don't have Image Dynamics here, I will probably buy a new set of Alpine SPR-17S. The problem with the RX7 is front doors can only handle speakers with 2.5" depth. Most speakers like DLS MS6A, Hertz HSK 165 and Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 have higher depth which means hitting the window or not being able to fit the door trim.

We have most of the well known brands here but Im having hard time finding a 6.5" (100rms, 2.5") components except Alpine Type-R (350$) and Alpine SPX-pro (700$).

Wow, is that in US Dollars? Cuz if so, that's very expensive haha. The type-R speakers are nice - there's nothing really good or bad about them in my opinion, but I wouldn't pay more than $125 USD for a new set.
