Cheap 6x9 rear fill Eclipse SC6900 vs. Image Dynamics CTX69

Thats not cheap LOL. I would get some of those Alpine 5 way speakers, they are about a hundred bucks a set.
nfw am I going alpine 6x9's.

$160 may be cheap depending on the

quality I'm getting for the price.

If you are deadset on 6x9's, then I would hit up those CTX ID's. I have heard a set of the componets and those in his rear fill and was pure sex! I was going to go that route, but ended up getting the Premier 720c D series set for a nice tag and mine rivals his, with out question. But those are a nice set, with out a doubt.

You got the 720's in an IB (trunk) config or a panel?

What type of car is it?

I don't want to install 6.5 components speakers over the trunk

unless someone can vouch for the specific set in that config.

No I have my 720's in my door. My friends are in his rear deck IB like and sound really good. All my speakers are in my doors...........well minus the subs, lol! Also my car is a ford focus and his is an older Thunderbird that he custom made panels to fit in his rear deck for the 6x9's.

What car is this going in? What's your front stage?
I'm in the planning stages for my '04 altima.

I want to do Alpine type-X pro's in the front

with the id or Eclipse 6x9's (above).

Or I could go PRS components up front with the

720's in the rear if they sound good IB. Save

some cash too. The prs midbass is supposed to

be good. But I'm not thrilled with the PRS passive

crossover, like I am with the type-X crossover (awsome).

I hear the type X pros are nice but lacking the midbass,

but I thought the id's may take care of that. The dark horse

is the Eclipse 6x9 components. I'd like to hear more about them.

dont mean to threadjack but i have a few noob questions

is there any difference between a midrange speaker and coaxial speaker

and why dont some ppl just put components for their rear fill?

sometimes people don't run subwoofes so the rear speakers provide a little more bass than a component set would. A midrange provides the midrange where as a coaxial has a tweet built in too.

I'm sure there are some who would tell me to just go

Focal 165 K2P in the front and forget about 6x9's.

That's kind of on the table too.
