Hello, this is my first time messing with components and I'm not sure about the sequence for wiring everything. I haven't purchased anything yet, but I want to get it straight in my head so I know what I'm looking for when I do buy. Ultimately I want 3-way components because I have three grills on my doors, but I know I can't afford anything like that right now. 2-way sets seem to come with passive crossovers, which wire in between the amp and speaker, if I'm reading everything right. I'm assuming a 3-way passive crossover does what it's supposed to. My difficulty is I want to get a 2-way set and add a 3" midrange later, but that will screw with the crossover setup. I've read a little about active crossovers, but I'm not an audio engineer, and it seems like I'd need 6 channels of amps to get 3-way speakers with an extra crossover box between the head unit and the amps. I've also heard some amps have active crossovers built in. Like I said, I'm not trying to get product suggestions, just wiring diagrams for the different setups basically. Help?

Also possibly a link to how to read frequency graphs? I assume it's too much information to reproduce or try to explain here. Beginner stuff, I know.

LOL - mine was a higher end model too - iirc deh-9300. Low mileage too, it was sitting around for year collecting dust.
