1. Is this truly a good quality, reliable amp, at least as good as a Kicker ZX1000.1, which I was also looking at? I'm paranoid because Audio Que is not a big or well known company and known of the installers that I've spoken to, know of them.

2. So my installer told me that since I don't listen to music very loud and don't care to vibrate the screws loose in the trunk, but do want qualtiy, strong bass, I don't need full power from this amp. He suggests hooking up the AQ1200D at 4 oms to my two JL10W6's and says that for my listening habbits, 500 watts will be more than plenty to give good clean kick and at the same time, give the speakers more protection. He's right about my listening habbits, but is he right about the rest?

1. Audioque is a well known company with a pretty solid reputation.

2. Your installer isn't very bright. Why buy the W6s and a AQ1200 if you aren't going to use them to their potential? If you only need 500 watts, buy a 500 watt amp and a less powerful subwoofer...

I already own the subs...I have to use them. I don't want to rattle the bolts loose, but I do want good, strong, clean bass. Is that too much to ask at 500W for these speakers? Any risk of frying my system if I run the amp at 1 ohm? I've been told that this is a danger with any amp.
