Recently Bought a SAE-1000D and an SA12. While driving to work today everything just cut out.. I went to work, came back started it up and it's not in protect mode anymore.. there is just no sound being produced from the sub.

Anyhelp with this would be appreciated.

How though? It's always seen less than 600rms.. Is there a sure fire way to check?
You have no idea what its seeing. It could have been seeing 1000 or it could have been seeing a clipped 1000. It could have been seeing a clipped 400. Put a DMM on the terminals and check the ohm

I've tried turning it down I still get no sound from the sub it's self.. Amp is powered on and NOT in protect mde anymore
imo amp is gone my friend. I have an amp that does the exact same thing. Amp always powered on with green light, never turned red(protect) with no sound. Had it repaired. Played for about 10 minutes and again,no sound. Obviously the repair guy didnt do a great job I guess. Anyways, i would bet its your amp. Since its not going into protect I dont think its too much to fix

Pop test the speaker with a battery to see if you here a popping sound. Or check with a dmm. If you put negative on negative part of battery and positive to positive and don't hear anything - the sub is done. It's probably your amp though honestly.

I switched the amp into slave mode then back to master and it started working again, turned the gain down to about a quarter way and it works fine. Once I tried turning it up again the amp made a loud pop and went back into protect mode. Restarted the car with the gain way down and its working fine again. What kind of damage have I done to the amp? Obviously my stock electrical isn't enough to power this and I'd assume I've been clipping the amp?
