I'm buying a 4runner and looking for a lot of bass but with clarity. I already own an alpine type-r 12" in my 2000 celica gts which is loud enough for that, but not for the new car.

the question is which would be louder and still clear?

2 Alpine Type-R 12"s in a vented Q-Logic box with a 500watt RMS amp supplying each

or

2 Infinity Kappa Perfect DVQ 12" in the same vented Q-Logic box with a 2 channel Rockford amp pumping 425 watts RMS to each sub.

The impedences and wattages match up with each sub setup so the power isn't an issue, i just want to know which sub will i get more out of

Ok, what about for 6.5 components for the doors...i can get the infinity kappas and the alpine type r's for about the same price...i was thinking the infinity's because of their power handling but i'm not sure

I really like infinitys products. However ALOT of people on here say the infinity comps lack midbass.

I havent heard them myself but i would trust the people on here;)

Type R Coaxials are wayyyy better then Type R Comps

I was on a demo board at BB and the Type R Coaxials actually produce sound when they move... I tried the Type R Comps and they were wangin all over the place but u couldent hear a **** thing

I have 2 infinity kappa perfect 12d vq in the back of my ext cab dakota in seperate sealed box's on a MA audio hk401sx. hits really hard on the lows and its really clean. but like some one mentioned it kinda lacks mid bass. it could be my box and snce i just got hte amp 2 nights ago the settings arent really dialed in yet. But if you get them youll be happy.

On a sealed sub box if I faced the subs up, I lost quite a bit of bass. Faced them forward, they worked great. On a ported box with subs and...

I would just go with a ported box tuned from 32 hz. - 35 hz.
