4x6 Speakers

I am wanting to get my little brother some new speakers for Christmas.. He has a 97 Rodeo and Pillar 4x6 speakers... He wants a crisp clean sound and has no plans on ever getting a sub or comps or anything of that nature...

I wanted to get everyones opinion on what the best 4x6 speaker would be to get him and what you guys think..

Sound is very subjective and it depends what each person likes. You'd just have to go to a store and audition a few for yourself to see how they sound. That said, your choices will be reduced somewhat in a 4x6 size.

If it isnt a really big deal to do it you could buy an adapter or make one to get it to accept a 5.25" speaker. Your selection gets so much better then and you would get better SQ. If you are set on 4x6 though I would go with those image dynamics.

If you think you can make an MDF plate to accept a 5.25" (real easy to make). You could look into these.

Personal experience, those Focal 5.25s sound amazing for the price.

For 4x6's, I like the Memphis M-Class line. Had some in my Grand Am, and they were excellent.

Had some pioneers 4x6s, 3ways, and they sounded good, yet little harsh/loud on the tweater region. I'd look at some infinity refs, but im sure there are better out there, thats just what caught my eye when I saw a bunch of them on display on BB

polk db's actually sound pretty decent
