I have no audio backgroud but am broke and want to replace this unit for my kids but I have a new to me 2006 Town and Country van but after only a few weeks went by the dvd would play or eject dvds. I powered on but that was it. I have a buddy who repairs computers and he said the spindle was broken but couldnt find the parts so I was sol. It looks like I need to replace it but a OEM replacement is way too expensive but other replacement have a different wiring "harness". Can I buy a dvd unit and replace the harress by splicing the wires. I have some mechanical ability but never done any audio. Please help with advice.
