I'm throwing together a budget system in my girl's car for cheap with whatever I can find.

Craigslist has led me to a pair of JL 12W1v2 4 ohm subs, and I bought a JL e2150 off the forum.

So, even though the specs don't list it, will the e2150 play at 2 ohm mono?

Otherwise my choices are...

1 sub ported getting 220 watts

or

2 subs sealed getting 140 watts (70 watts each)

The recommended RMS amplifier power is 75 - 300 watts per sub.

So, would you go 1 sub ported or 2 subs sealed?

That would be a function of the harness, not the HU, I think. Have you looked into a Maestro or iData interface? i would check with crutchfield...
