UPDATE: Guess it was the amp the whole time, not enough power for two 10” subs at 600w rms each. Bought the CT Sounds 2000w amp and voila, I now have insane bass and am a happy camper.
I have two DVC Alpine Type-S 2ohm 10 inch subs that are rated at 600w RMS each. Just wondering what amp you’d recommend for me to get on a budget. I’d like to spend around $200 but will go higher if needed. Thanks
Tested the sub that was rattling and showed around 1.5 ohms. So might just be the box rattling I’m not too sure, it does seem to make some noises that the other sun doesn’t. Almost crackling.
Checking the last two wires from the subs that go into the amp and it’s showing around 1.5 ohms. Would that mean the amp is the problem then? Gonna check both the coils on the sub I think is bad and will get back to you. Also I contacted the seller and they offered to send me a new amp once I...
Yes I did. Here is how the subs came wired from the manufacturer. I connected the negative wires of both subs and put them in one of the neg terminals and did the same with the positive in one of the positive terminals.
So I checked the wiring of the subs and they already came bridged and the first time I wired them to the amp I just connected speaker wire from one neg terminal on the box to a neg terminal on the amp and did not connect it directly to the other neg terminal on the box and same with positive...
May I ask why that was a mistake? Sorry I’m still trying to learn about all this audio stuff. Should I sell these subs and get new ones or can I make it work with what I’ve got?
RCA. I believe I had It on low. How would I find out what the box tuning is? Sorry again.
I am running the signal with rca. I bought an adapter that plugs into the back of my radio and has rca plugs coming out the side. It’s called “Add An Amp Amplifier Radio Adapter Interface for some Chrysler/Ram- No Prem/Amp” on eBay
