How do you mount large door pods without visible screws?

Trying to think of a way to mount door pods, that goes the entire length of my door panel, and like 12" high with a good bit of weight to it to my door panel without any visibl screws showing

I can screw it right to the door where the speaker cutouts are, but the end 2/3 of the pod will just be carpeted wood panel.

How would you attach that?

Take the door panel off,
mount/place a 3/4 birch or mdf piece behind some part of the back where you feel will hold up that side well.
Now put the pod in front of the door panel where you want it to fit exactly.
Take 2 inch or 1 5/8" deck screws and screw them through the wood support anchor peice into the door panel, and into the base of the pod.

Do that on both the speaker side and the closed side and you'll have secured and stable pods

Re: How do you mount large door pods without visible screws?

If you glass bolts in them, there would be no way to get inside to secure it, unless you take off the outside door mold....

My stock door has a screw that is covered by a cap. Its like a washer with a plastic cover attached to it that blends in with the panel pretty well.

If I were you, I would mount a block of wood sticking out perpendicular to the door.
Mount the screw from the bottom/sides of the panel, so they won't be visible. Then cover them with caps of some sort.

Either secure them through the back (if theyre MDF backed pods) or put screws/bolts from inside the pod, through the door panel, with nuts on the other side.

I dunno the colors your going with but I saw a beauty panel in someones ride yesterday that was wrapped in black suade with 2 visible screws and they were hardly noticable at all..and even noticed they didnt look bad as they were nice and flush and sorta blended in.

Re: How do you mount large door pods without visible screws?

Make a deep hole inside the panel, and put a screw in it securing it to a piece of MDF secured to the sheetmetal. Then put a cap inside the hole to make it flush with the rest of the panel, or fill the hole with something that can be taken out easily.

Because eventually...for some reason or another...your going to have to take your door apart. And you don't want to turn a 15 minute task into a day long task that immobilizes your car

Re: How do you mount large door pods without visible screws?

I really dont see how you guys are trying to get me to tighten or screw from the inside of the door into the pod. its a big **** pod that covers half the door and theres no access to the inside of the door once its set in place.

I've found it easy to mount where you can reach your arm through the speaker hole.

I have big doors but a 9" hole too...lol Use your imagination there are plenty of ways to do it.

Re: How do you mount large door pods without visible screws?

There wont be a speaker hole that goes into the door, the pods go over the existing door panel, and covers the entire thing, there will be no access to the inside of the door
