yeah i think too that the sa-8 will handle more power than the 1508, i think it will be a perfect match for a dd ss1a for daily use, really hope i can hit 140dbs with a single tuned to 45hz..

will it be recones avalible for it?

Yes, I am bringing in re-cone parts -- they will be in stock along with the SA-10s... so a bit after the SA-8s come in.

I have them both sitting here in my shop -- bought a pair of 1508s to measure TS specs on. They have a very similar voice coil size but the SA-8 has a stronger cone, bit stiffer spider with more usable throw, a plastic triple joint re-enforcement ring, and IMO better voice coil cooling.

So... again... if a DD 1508 will handle it then the SA-8 would drop right in and handle the same thing if not more.

Are we going to see some head to head tests with a 1508 before the SA-8's come out?
