HELP, Wiring 2 x 12' alpine duo 2ohm subs to a Mono alpine amp

hey guys total car audio newb here....

I just bought 2 X alpine 12" duo 2 ohm voice coil subs.... (swr-122d)

and....

the Alpine 1000w MONO amp (mrp-1000)

what is the best way to wire the subs so they get the best power from the MONO amp? I have plenty of experience with home audio and If im given the correct diagram I am fairly confident I can hook them up my self....

is this the right wiring?

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif the negative of the first coil goes to the pos of the 2nd one, The Type Rs come with a jumper wire to do this, their coils are very close together so make sure you dont just bridge the + and - on one of the coils together or youll get the wrong ohm load.

I made a quick diagram, I have a quick question....

look at how speaker wire A connects with speaker wire B....can you just cut half way threw a wire (a) and connect another wire (b) to it as they are showing here? or is it best to connect the A&B wires at the ends where the sub box terminal is????

 
ya i thought that seemed strange, its almost like a short circuit....
