air bag switch help!

alright i have a 98 gmc sonama i'm in the process of putting a alpine 9815 in the dash i started to take it off and the air bag switch has to be moved and stuff so can i just unhook the harness the switch is to turn the passanger on/off before i unhook it do i have to disconect the botery or can i just disconnect help me please dont wanna make airbag go off

Unless you dash is different that mine in my 2000 Blazer, you just take the 2 scews out above the stereing wheel.

They are kinda on top of the gauge cluster. Then pop off that whole plastic bezel.

The Bezel goes from the far left by the head light controls to right bast the head unit...

There are a couple of switches that you will need to reach behind there and disconnect their plugs... They are just a clip, but can be a pain..

You should always disconnect the battery when installing a car stereo (ground side).
