Is fusing the big 3 a must??? Also weldingsupply.com insluation enough?

As the title says, Is it a must to fuse the line from positive on battery to alt??

I have a 200 amp alt and a total of around 2700 watts rms between my 2 amps.

I have 1/0 ran from front to back and am doing the big 3 in 1/0 from weldingsupply.com. The insulation on their 1/0 does not look very thick at all. Do you think it will be fine in the heat of the engine bay??

I am doing the big 3 tomorow and if a fuse is a must, will I be fine using it without a fuse until I get one?

Not needed, but fusing is reccomended with all power wires.

The insulation is fine.

I dont fuse the big 3 either, but lots of people do and suggest it. You could go either way with it.

ok looks like ill be fine without fusing. I am still kinda of skeptic of whether or not the skinny insulation on the wire will hold up....

The welding supply insulation is good up to something crazy like 400degrees Fahrenheit...or soemthing really high...it says on the jacket of mine...lol. I also did NOT fuse my big three...

i never fuse between the alt and the battery but thats just me i have my own way of doing many things
