Need help

Is 75w enough? I dont know how home audio compares to car audio in terms of the environments and power needed.
75 watts is plenty, even to your generic-standard-common as dirt 87dB/w speakers that are everywhere. Generally, you need a whole lot less power at home than what you're used to in vehicle - but you need efficient speakers to take advantage of that. For example, I'm using 2 watts for my bedroom/office system, but I've got very efficient speakers for it.

Okay

Can someone give me other home audio sites to buy from then? And is that a quilty receiver, like is onkyo a good brand?

That receiver also has 1 subwoofer and 1 preamp output, so I could amps later at home if I wanted to correct? Its the same principle as a headunit right?

that is the same reciever i have except i have the black one.

it doesnt have any pre outs except for the subwoofer.

but you might look at the onkyo tx-nr801.

it is a 7.1 with every option you could every want.

100 watts per channel at 8 ohms, close to 200 at 4 ohms

has an ethernet link so you can stream files directly into it from your computer and it has pre outs for all 7.1 channels but i would think that is enough power to run anything you could throw at it.

they go on ebay for 575 ish refurbished so that is a pretty good deal (since the msrp is $999.99)

now that may be more than you were wanting to spend but if not then that one would serve you very well.

I don't know why you want to run external amplifiers so much...unless you have a few grand to throw into amplification, and it's really only worth it if you're running 200+wpc //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Im just trying to understand what they are for //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I guess I thought of it like a car, where you can use the crappy hu power, or add a nice amp. It seems I am wrong.
