cuttin in and out

ok my cousin has this 10" bandpass pioneer sub>

sometimes when the bass goes to hit it cuts out and then back in and is constantly doing this? can anyone help and tell me what is wrong...and if its the sub can u poiint to the right direction on where to pick a new one up???? thanks for any help!!

i mean hes had this for at least 3 yrs...so im guessing the sub is going....but anyway it hits pretty **** hard...so can u tell me where i can find a a decent replacement to go in that enclosure?????

if that sub came in that enclosure, which i assume it did, the enclosure was designed to fit that subs requirements. another sub may not perform well in the same enclosure. i would go with a higher quality sub in a box built to spec.

You can also check the amp settings. Did he ever change the wiring of the sub or try to play with his amp ??

Or did it just start doing it one day out of the blue ?

no i dont want anything better...but heres the run down....my cousin had it in his 95 blazer running off of his BAJA 600 watta amp...well it ran off this amp from day one and was like this for a couple of years...well just recently i picked up 2 jbl 10" subs in a bandpass box and i let him use them in his truck....so he let this other guy hook his 10" pioneer up in his car and this guy had a junk amp that fudged it up well now i am stuck with this and would like to get it working...so now maybe u understand a lil more!!

Did you try it on the amp that you used to have it on ??

Maybe the other amp blew the speaker.... that is what I am guessing... or the sub was just being passed around too much... and got messed up somewhere down the lines...

yea i tried it back on the baja....so u know where i can possibly get the same sub or maybe a sub equivelant to that one???

I am guessing that sub was not great.. I mean you can find subs anywhere, I mean literally, on the internet, at stores... it all depends on how much you want to spend and what you are REALLY looking to accomplish next

im not lookin to compete and if that sub last my cousin 2-3 years i would like that one again but i porbably wont be able to find it...huh?

For like 170, you can get like a Kicker Solo-Baric L5... I know they are decent...

But for something cheaper... for quality and durability, I would some Rockfoard Fosgates HEs or HE2s...

I just cannot go and buy un-name brand speakers, sorry...

no i understand i really only have room for one speaker and the amp my girl is not the greatest so dont remind me...but its a legacy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif 1600 W (only puttin out MAYBE 300 watts i know) but all she wants is a lil bumb and i got the amp for $20 so i really cant complain...maybe u can suggest a sub for that!
