Subs In The Winter

I have 1 Clarion 12" sub. I was wondering if the freezing temperatures are going to **** it up? We're talking like -40°C. I have noticed that It doesn't perform as well in colder temperatures, which does make sense to me... because the rubber around the sub becomes rigid and thus it can't pound as hard... so tell me... is there some way to keep my trunk warm or something so I won't **** up my sub?

Don't play the stereo at all, or at very low volumes, until it gets warm in the cabin, as it will help warm up the sub too. If youre really concerned, having a small ceramic heater on a relay and with a thermostat might be a decent answer...just make sure to shield it so that things don't burn up, and MAKE SURE to bolt it down.

I highly doubt that you are getting actual temps of -40C...that is like -75F and I don't think that happens to often. I also would like some info on subs in the winter...so we're back on top of the form, help is appreciated

Thats more than likely the spider kinda frozen LOL....only way to circumvent that is to blow the heater at it...or just wang the thing...if it tears up ...buy another...!

Part of the climate...nothing you can do but warmup like nismo said or just beat on it till its loose LOL....

Its been known to happen here, so yeah.... and for the record, -40C is the same as -40F because thats where they meet... if i am not mistaken
