I am sick and tired of seeing cars drive around with huge wings that exceed the roof! What is it's purpose??? Do these cars really need it for performance sake?? I highly doubt it. I used to work at a shop that specialized in classic and rare restorations. The only car I worked on that actually needed a wing (and a mid wing) this size was a 1970 Pantera. It had a 351 Cleveland rear engine, high performance five speed German *****-axl, two holly 850cfm double pumpers with NOS. The thing got up to 90mph in third gear. Balls to the wall, NOS and all, it exceded 200mph in about 1/2 mile. In this case the wing(s) actually kept the thing on the ground. I highly doubt that the Neons, Cavaliers, Toyotas, and everything else I see driving around town house this much power that would really call for such a spoiler. So why would people spend their cash on something that looks so foolish?

I know I'm going to start a war here, but really.......WHY!!!!!

i personally do not like it when a guy comes driving down the street w/ those exaust systems that that sound like they added a coffee can on the end of them......and the annoying cars...but to each their own....

i may be goin against the grain here but i like the ricer attitude. i mean i am not one to have clear taillights, stickers on my car or an overly large wing(i have just a simple touring wing to help with down force.) i don't even have ground effects if it doesn't make my car faster i won't waste my money on it. the exhaust i kinda understand it really will make a difference in power and speed (but mine isn't that loud really, you can't even here it over my subs. for any of you wondering i drive a 91 crx with a ba20 motor swap

LOL man. It's all about style, I think. My kid has a pickup truck and he's doing the lowering number on it. No longer useful as a truck, cuz it bottoms out with the slightest load. But it "looks cool".

That's fine if it actually serves a purpose. I just see too many that don't. Half of the ones I see look like someone with bad metal working skills made it out of some aluminum and rivits.

As for the exhaust...I would actually like to improve my on my Cavalier, but I am afraid of that lawn mower sound I hear so much. Is there a way to do it with out that noise? It would be nice if I could make it sound deeper or like stock......nothing at all.

see all you people take this fast and furious shizit and think everybody is up to doin that. well i'll tell ya what. my car don't sound like you think. my body doesn't look like you think, my car is set up to run quarter miles because we have a race way here and i enjoy goin down there and racing other people. so i don't have some funky exhaust, or funny ground effects kit...............but my car is burnt orange and if you have a prob with that color complain to dupont and convience them not to make it anymore. most people hate ricers cause the can't out run them....my little old crx does mid 11's in the quarter and what does yours do???? probably mid 12's i mean mid 12 minutes that it............hahahahahahahahahahahah:nono:

There is no point in driving something that YOU dont like. If all the "ricer" equipment makes you more happy with your ride, then go for it.

How about we petition the admin to give a whole section to the classic arguments that no one wins? You know what I am talking about here... Domestic vs Import, SPL vs SQ, people who love and hate ricers, etc. Then this board will be filled with even more pointless bullshit but at least it will be confined to only one area(until someone decides they are too good to be grouped with everyone else argumentative and migrate over to the other boards). Sound good? No?
