I was told that someone out 15000 watts to a jl w7 and it took it without any distortion, is this true or did they feed me a bunch of shit.

I know to what he's refering to.. and its off...

the 13w7 took an average of 3kw before the onset of distortion, in a 2 cuft sealed box.. through most of its bandwidth...

it took an average of 12kw from 40-80hz before the onset of distress..

called the RMS burst test... its being done now by Car Sound... its in their August 2002 issue.. they put a couple woofers through it.. the W7 review starts on page 78

I saw an ad in the phoenix newtimes that the new jl's could handles up to 20,000watts.

I called them and asked them what was up with that and they told me that was just lab spec's. and it was only for like a few seconds. so, it is bs but is it true if your talking about just specs for test theory.

not really that impressive...i plugged a RE SE10 into the wall parallel 15 times and it never showed signs of stress....

1.5ohm in a 110v.
